›› About Osler
Why have we decided to make this cutting-edge tool available for free? Why have we made the source code available?
In short, the answer is that its the right thing to do. Residencies and fellowships are not-for-profit educational organizations. In the spirit of academics and collaboration that we hope all medical training program exemplify, we are striving to create a tool that can be used by, and improved by all, so that all users may benefit. We've made use of many open-source projects to build Osler, and in so doing have totally taken out most of the risk of using it. You never need to worry about Osler going out of business, or having the lead developer get hit by a bus. The source code is in the public domain, and any turbo-geek can pick up where someone else has left off. Osler will take on a life of its own.
